Motley Rice staff and attorneys are able to securely access the firm's systems from remote locations. E-mails can be automatically forwarded to attorneys' wireless PDA devices enabling immediate reception of important information. We also automatically send e-mail inquiries from our websites to these devices, ensuring swift acknowledgement and responses.
We have an in-house data and document management support system geared to handle large scale litigation projects. This includes review, selection and coding processing for documents produced by defendants. Customized databases are created to maintain documents such as pleadings, correspondence, memorandums, transcripts and other work product files. The system also manages government documents related to state and federal regulations and Congressional hearings.
We maintain documents that are filed in state and federal jurisdictions, including transcripts and depositions in the central filing area. The system was developed in-house based on input from experienced trial attorneys and paralegals and includes customized objective and subjective information fields to aid in prompt and accurate data retrieval. The coding system is augmented by imaging processing so that documents can be shared, retrieved and reviewed at the desk top. In addition, certain documents may be scanned and OCR'd based on the time frame and needs of the litigation, and text can be searched for key words or phrases. All document processing conforms to specific procedures and undergoes quality assurance checks as part of the handling protocol.
